C. o1 o: u9 z$ ]Standby power savings are becoming increasingly important as computing devices continue to shrink leaving less room for large batteries, and come loaded with advanced features such as instant-on and Microsoft’s Connected Standby. DDR3L-RS (formerly referred to as DDR3Lm) is the first mainstream PC DRAM with a focus on reducing IDD6, doing so by cutting in half the self-efresh rate at room temperature (standby conditions) and by selecting lower IDD6 devices. First, TCSR (Temperature Compensated Self Refresh) is enabled at 45C which reduces the self-refresh rate from 1x to 1/2x rate. Secondly, the devices are screened and sorted by the IDD6 value through a proprietary screening process and the lower IDD6 devices are classified as DDR3L-RS.
